Via Monte Napoleone,“one-of-a-kind Street”.  Despite the hype around e-commerce and online shopping, affluent consumers and Millenials still look to shop in the physical store. Close to La Scala Theatre, unlike the sprawling fashion district in Paris, Milan's flagship stores fit into a square known as the Quadrilatero d'Oro ('quadrangle of gold'), arguably the most fashionable shopping district on the planet. You can spend hours in this neighbourhood window-shopping the exquisite collections of couture, jewellery, fashion,  watches, up-scale homewear and food. Whether you've got powerful credit cards, or just love luxury window shopping, the Via Monte Napoleone is the ideal place to go for an ‘healthy’ retail therapy.

SHOPAHOLIC LUXURY AGENDA| Essential information   for luxury globeshoppers. Gucci has introduced Gucci DIY (Do It Yourself) service! Exclusively available in the Milan Via Monte Napoleone flagship, fashionistas can now personalize their Dionysus purses (only large and medium sizes) with a buffet of embroidered patches - including but not limited to: butterflies, bees, dragonflies, snakes, and peonies “I love the animal world. Within nature there is always something unexpected and for me it is a great source of inspiration.” says Alessassandro Michele, the current Gucci creative director and former head accessories designer - , trims, materials, hardware, numerous color variations, and monogrammed initials (with the option to bling them out with Swarovski crystals). For plain models, customers have a choice of four leathers (crocodile, ostrich, python, and “moon” leather) and the color palette includes 18 shades. Hardware finishes, shoulder straps and embossing can be tweaked to suit even the most exacting of customers. 
The Gucci DIY service reflects Alessandro Michele’s philosophy which is “that the way you dress is how you feel and that men and women should feel authentic and free in the expression of themselves.” Gucci Do It Yourself service will also allow the brand’s enthusiasts to personalize the Ace sneakers, Princetown shoes, ready-to-wear garments and men’s made-to-order items.

The Dionysus buckle, first used by Gucci in a bag of the 70s, has been retrieved from the archives to become one of the recognizable elements of the house.

Italian jeweler Pomellato arrived in Via Montenapoleone, 17 next to Breguet. The existing Pomellato boutique in nearby Via San Pietro all’Orto remains open.  Baldinini shoes moved from civic 15 to civic 25.  Dolce & Gabbana has scored the prestigious venue at No.4  Via Montenapoleone that housed Ralph Lauren... Work in progress. 
Venini glassware and Salvini Jewelry (both Damiani group)  are back in Via Monte Napoleone! Venini, the iconic glassware brand will soon unveil  its new  showroom at 10 Via Montenapoleone. Salvini jewelry landed at  no. 27 vacated by Toy Watch.

Luxury  shoe brand Jimmy Choo opened a new men's store in Via Sant’Andrea 1A beside its women’s flagship. Historic Moschino boutique moved across the street from civic 12 to civic 25.

VIA DELLA SPIGA
Sparkling mood all around Via della Spiga. The French maison Chloé is landing at  civic 30 vacated by Moschino (moved to Via Sant’Andrea 25). Designer Fausto Puglisi opened his first flagship, which he describes as “small but cozy,” located in Via della Spiga 1. Puglisi got his big break in 2010 when Dolce & Gabbana invited him to sell his clothes in their shop in Milan,  Via della Spiga 2. As well as his namesake brand, Puglisi is creative director for French label Emanuel Ungaro. Few doors ahead, at Via della Spiga 5, Campomaggi (rugged-chic bags), opened his Milanese flagship store.

CORSO MATTEOTTI
Ferutdin Zakirov lands in Corso Matteotti 3. Following the recent debut in Moscow, Ferutdin Zakirov  arrives in Corso Matteotti,  at the corner of Via San Pietro all’Orto. A 230 square meter location, on two levels, dedicated to menswear “made in Italy”. On the opposite side of the street Borbonese is going to open its new Milanese flagship.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST
Chanel is opening a new store in Milan’s shopping arcade Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II to sell the label’s accessories and beauty products only.


MonteNapoleone Yacht Club & Unique 2016

Some of the most famous names in yachting and luxury came together in Milan  (May 16-22) to celebrate the second MonteNapoleone Yacht Club & Unique. Organised by the Associazione MonteNapoleone, with support from Fraser Yachts and Valverde, the event paired fashion and jewellery powerhouses with superyacht builders and designers to celebrate the unique luxury of the yachting lifestyle. Under the patronage of Comune di Milano, MonteNapoleone Yacht Club & Unique is an event that links luxury with the nautical world, celebrating a long-standing successful partnership.
Guglielmo Miani
, President of Associazione MonteNapoleone, said with satisfaction: “We can’t forget that Milan is considered the most “naval” city of Italy for the number and quality of its shipowners and enthusiasts. Here, we have some of the most important planning studies of the world. The event, after the success of the first edition, wants to grow and indulge this great passion of the city. MonteNapoleone Yacht Club is a tribute to sea world and Italian boating”

The initiative was enhanced by Unique an event in which jewelers  - AUDEMARS PIGUET, BREGUET, BULGARI, CHANTECLER CAPRI, DAMIANI, JAEGER-LECOULTRE, MONTBLANC, OMEGA, PANERAI, PIAGET, SABBADINI e VHERNIER - exhibited unique pieces and complex, multifaceted watches.
Via Monte Napoleone was transformed into a Marina: for the entire period, the Shipyards indulged in the exhibition space offered by the splendid Boutiques that, opening their doors to visitors,  allowed them to admire scale models, photographs, video walls and avant-garde designs. The week provided for a rich and interconnected series of events including the presentation by the event partner Sailing Series®, the highly successful regatta format, which will display a catamaran M32, built completely of carbon fiber in Piazzetta Croce Rossa.
