The Waiting is Over.

The Swarovski Xmas Tree. Located in the heart of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the Xmas Tree is being decorated with 1,000 Swarovski crystals, a silver tree topper, and over 36,000 bright white lights.

The Waiting is Over. Lit around the world, Xmas trees herald the beginning of the festive season; an emblem of joy, spirit, a symbol of celebration. Under the Xmas tree  we found the long awaited Issey Miyake’s first Italian store  and the new Fondazione Prada’s Osservatorio focused on photography.
The long awaited Issey Miyake’s first Italian store will be opened on February 2017. Located at 12 Via Bagutta, within Palazzo Reina (just off Via Montenapoleone), the milanese boutique  will host all of the label's main lines, from clothing to accessories: Issey Miyake, Issey Miyake Men, Pleats Please, Homme Plissé, Bao Bao and 132 5 Issey Miyake. “The international reputation of Milan and its indisputable creative reputation make it a natural choice for the arrival of the brand in Italy. We are delighted to be staying in this beautiful building,” said Masakatsu Nagatani, president of Issey Miyake Inc. in a statement.

About the location. The Palazzo was built by the Reina family between 1826 and 1831, and was sold to the city of Milan in 1921. An investment company bought the building in 2014 and has entirely renovated it, preserving its original style. Issey Miyake  is the building's first tenant.

Fondazione Prada unveiled Osservatorio. Located in the iconic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II,  Osservatorio is a venue focused on the newest expressions in contemporary photography and its connection with other art disciplines and creative forms of expression. Housed at the Galleria’s fifth and sixth floors, “Osservatorio” is set just above the so-called octagon, near the glass and iron dome which tops the building designed by architect Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1867. The gallery’s spaces, which were rebuilt after being badly damaged in 1943 by the bombing of Milan and have been now totally restored, encompasses a total floor area of 800 square meters / 8,600 square feet.
The program of “Osservatorio” inaugurates with the exhibition “Give Me Yesterday
, curated by Francesco Zanot, open from December 21, 2016, through March 12, 2017.

The exhibition focuses on the use of photography as a personal diary and presents works, dating from the early 2000s to the present, by 14 Italian and international artists: Melanie Bonajo, Kenta Cobayashi, Tomé Duarte, Irene Fenara, Lebohang Kganye, Vendula Knopova, Leigh Ledare, Wen Ling, Ryan McGinley, Izumi Miyazaki, Joanna Piotrowska, Greg Reynolds, Antonio Rovaldi, and Maurice van Es.
